My European Internship

When I came over to Germany I did a lot of research to see how to maximise the benifit gained from doing a six month internship abroad. After all it is a pretty amazing opportunity and I want to make the most of it. One of the interesting things I came across was to blog about your time there. It makes sense really and sounds pretty easy, but when I logged in tonight and saw I hadn't posted a blog something in quite a while, it made me realise something: time does not wait for anyone.

The days here in Germany fly by, weeks are a blur, and months keep ticking.
Next week I have a sit down for my mid way feedback session, which is going to be a great benchmark to see how I have developed, as well as allow me to pull out my weaknesses and focus on them during my remaining time.
It all seems quite bizarre the phrase 'remaining time', as it feels I got to Germany just a few weeks ago, when in fact this weekend I have been here for three months already!!

I have met some amazing people during that time. Mexicans that would always have your back, even if its after a bottle of tequila racing down the roads on bikes. I have met British people. The end. Joking all you British people..They really cool, and are a great break for pure english conversing. I have met German people, naturally, but the key thing is, I have met NORTHERN German people and SOUTHERN German people. Very different from eachother in many ways! The North of Germanys people tend to be far friednlier, but in that same breath, I have some amazing friends from the South of Germany too. On that note, most old German people hate English people. The number of times I have been ignored... jeepers!!

I am in my forth residence in Germany now, one that I will be at till I leave to go home. It is a mainly all German student hostel and there are some very cool people. I personally do find the German culture challenging at times though, and living with such a large number of Germans is a lesson in itself, all be it a good one I feel.
